How School Record presents survey and state records

This release transforms the NCES 2021-22 Private School Survey public-use file using permanent school IDs and the official codebook. It adds exact, one-to-one matched Pennsylvania SY2526 roster classifications and California 2025-26 affidavit records while excluding ambiguous matches. It preserves each source's vintage and legal meaning, treats association answers and state records as distinct facts rather than accreditation, and does not turn filing, classification, size, staffing, calendar, affiliation, or program type into a school-quality score.

Record completeness

Record completeness describes whether selected NCES identity and survey fields are populated. It is not an academic quality, fit, safety, accreditation, approval, or outcomes score.

Merge rules

Each source maps its native columns into canonical fields. Lower priority numbers win when two sources provide different values. Every observation remains attached to the record with its source URL and observation date.
